About the Association

Students’ Association of the University of East Sarajevo is the organization very important for the students of the University of East Sarajevo. Its aim is to protect students’ rights and to represent interests of the students of the University of East Sarajevo. The Association works not only on the level of the entity, but on the international level as well, in accordance with the declarations of the Statute. The Association was established in 1997 as the top organization of all students’ associations at the University. On some universities, headship of students’ associations is elected on immediate elections, on which every student has the right to vote. Two members of each university organization are delegated into the Council of the Association. The Council chooses headship of the Association. The Association is made of: the Council, the President with two vice-presidents, Executive board and General secretary.

Main aims and tasks of the Association, regulated by the Statute are:

  1. Protection of the interests and rights of the students
  2. Improvement of the standards for the students
  3. Improvement of the qualities of education and speeding up transformation of the high education and coordination with the European and world programs
  4. Development of the international cooperation, and rightful participation with the international students’ organizations, including students’ exchange
  5. Organization of sport, cultural, and public life, humanitarian manifestations, students’ excursions, seminars and the like
  6. Contribution to the social and economic development of RS
  7. Publishment of the students’ magazine

Members of the Association are all students of the University of East Sarajevo. The Association works for the interest of all the students of the University and tries to improve quality of education, students’ standards and social life of the students.

With the cooperation with the Students’ Association from the University in Banja Luka we established the Union of the Students of RS which stands for our students in Europe. This Union is the organization acknowledged by the National Union of Students in Europe.
